The exhibition entitled Il était une Voie, le voyage des Romains en Riviera ('Once upon a road, the journey of the Romans on the Riviera') will start its tour on Friday 14th June at the Palais de l’Europe in Menton. This exhibition will highlight the history of the Roman presence on the French Riviera with a modern and dynamic museography, using video and 3D reconstructions. The Mougins Museum is honoured to take part in this exhibition with the loan of a magnificent roman polychrome mosaic which dates back to the 1st/3rd century AD. It is composed of a geometrical pattern producing an interesting “trompe l’oeil” effect with the depiction of Medusa’s head and her famous "snakes hair".
